Rose of the Month ~ Nov/Dec 2006

Bonica

The rose "Bonica" is so great, it gets two months! Introduced in 1985, this shrub rose is an excellent choice for those who say they 'can't grow roses'. It bears sprays of clear rose pink flowers on a neat, spreading plant. The blooms are very double and ruffled, with a fruity fragrance. The modest sized plant has rich green foliage and grows well as a specimen plant, in a group or as a low, mounded hedge. The ARS gives it a rating of 8.4. What is your experience with Bonica?
