Sweet Juliet

This month's rose is the David Austin shrub Sweet Juliet. It is an apricot blend shrub sometimes classified as an English rose. It wasintroduced in 1994 and rated 7.8 by the ARS. The blooms start as small buds and open to large, cupped flowers with a button eye. The color is a soft apricot fading to white and the blooms have a strong tea-like fragrance. The shrub has a prolific spring flush of bloom and another smaller flush in fall. A medium sized plant, it grows upright and strong.
