Lavaglut

The rose of the month for September and October is the floribunda Lavaglut. Introduced in 1979, it is also known by the name Intrigue. It's bushy and even growth habit makes it great for hedges. The deep red blooms are medium-sized and full of velvety textured petals. Foliage is glossy and purplish green. It can sometimes be susceptible to black spot. As a floribunda it requires some winter protection in Zone 4. Have you tried it yet? What is your experience with Lavaglut? Rate it in the poll below.

A note about our rose of the month selections: We choose only roses grown in local gardens. The photos are all taken in those gardens and unretouched. Our goal is to celebrate the roses we know and love and share them with you. We hope you like them too!
