~ Rose of the Month ~
August 2010

Bees Knees

This month's rose is the miniature Bees Knees. It is a yellow blend miniature introduced in 1998 and rated 8.0 by the ARS. Blooms can vary from mostly yellow to pink-edged and will appear in flushes throughout the season. There is some tendency to blackspot but controlled with a regular spray program. Like all miniature roses, it requires winter protection in our zone 4. What is your experience with Bees Knees? Rate it in the poll below.

A note about our rose of the month selections: We choose only roses grown in local gardens. The photos are all taken in those gardens and unretouched. Our goal is to celebrate the roses we know and love and share them with you. We hope you like them too!
