Rose of the Month ~ May 2003

The Fairy

This month's selection is the light pink polyantha, The Fairy. Introduced in 1932, it is rated 8.7 by the ARS, has 25 petals and a mild fragrance. It is a small plant - 2 to 4 feet, which can be used as a low hedge or trailing over a wall and is great for groundcover. While it may be slow to bloom in the early summer, once it gets going The Fairy will bloom well into autumn. Winter protection is recommended in Zone 4.
