~ Rose of the Month ~
February 2010

Nightingale

The rose of the month for February is Nightingale. It was introduced in 1970. NIghtingale is a hybrid tea with pink blooms that have a beautiful high center, perfect for Valentine's Day bouqets. If Valentine's Day fell in June, that is. The blooms hold their shape well and grow on long stems. It does have some susceptibility to mildew. As a hybrid tea it requires heavy winter protection in Zone 4. Have you tried it yet? What is your experience with Nightingale? Rate it in the poll below.
