Rose de Rescht

Rose de Rescht is an Portland Old Garden Rose. This small group of roses was derived from crosses involving hybrid gallica, damask, centifolia and hybrid china. The class was named in honor of the Duchess of Portland. The flowers of Rose de Rescht are borne close to the foliage and arrange in tight clusters or bunches. The blooms are fully double, a rich fuchsia red with hints of purple that mature to red hips. It is a compact, dense shrub, growing to around 3ft high. Rose de Rescht is a durable plant with good disease resistance. It will have some winter dieback in Zone 4. What is your experience with Rose de Rescht? Rate it in the poll below.
