~ Rose of the Month ~
January 2010

Abbaye de Cluny

The rose of the month for January is the hybrid tea Abbaye de Cluny. It was introduced in 1996. Abbaye de Cluny is a free-blooming rose with fragrant apricot blooms that hold their cupped shape well. The compact bushy growth works well for beds and borders. It has won many awards in European trials but is not widely grown in the US. As a hybrid tea it requires heavy winter protection in Zone 4. Have you tried it yet? What is your experience with Abbaye de Cluny? Rate it in the poll below.

A note about our rose of the month selections: We choose only roses grown in local gardens. The photos are all taken in those gardens and unretouched. Our goal is to celebrate the roses we know and love and share them with you. We hope you like them too!
