~ Rose of the Month ~
January & February 2012

Cherry Parfait

This month's rose is Cherry Parfait, a bicolored red and white grandiflora, introduced in 2001 and rated 7.9 by the ARS. In 2003 it was the AARS Grandiflora award winner. While it doesn't have much fragrance, it makes up for it with a hardy, disease resistant plant. The dark green foliage sets off the bold blooms that seem to bloom all summer. It grows around 2-3 feet in a compact shape and works well as a hedge plant. Winter protection is recommended in Zone 4. What is your experience with Cherry Parfait? Rate it in the poll below.

A note about our rose of the month selections: We choose only roses grown in local gardens. The photos are all taken in those gardens and unretouched. Our goal is to celebrate the roses we know and love and share them with you. We hope you like them too!
